Death by Running -- Part 2

Yep. I'm still convinced I may die a grizzly death this Saturday when I run the 1/2 marathon that I'm very ill prepared for. I just got back from running 6 miles, and at one point I'm pretty sure I was looking like this furry friend pictured above -- eyes wide open, struggling for breath as my hair flopped around me. Ok, maybe it wasn't that bad...but still. Whatever picture I was, it wasn't pretty. I ran the 6 miles in little over an hour, but I'm not worried about my time as much as if I'll need to amputate my legs following the race. I may be in critical condition and that's all they'll be able to do for my suffering soul. Anyway. If I'm preparing for death, I might as well have an updated soundtrack. I'm sick of what I've been running to, and I'm thinking something new will mix things up and give me that added umph that I'm so desperately in need of.

Any suggestions out there? What's on your running/workout play list?

bummer. i was hoping for a glorious 10 miler for you today! music does make a difference. my playlist is a mix of good tempos and nostalgia. so, it probably would mean nothing to you and might not give you the same umph it gives me since we probably aren't exactly the same speed nor do we have the same sentiments. but...some of my favs right now are:

halo/walking on sunshine: glee
i run to you: lady antebellum
dirty little secret: all american rejects
hoedown throwdown: miley cyrus
single ladies: beyonce
zac and sara: ben folds five
don't stop believin': glee
with you: chris brown
you can't stop the beat: hairspray
just haven't met you yet: michael buble

now if that isn't random and probably ridiculous, i'm not sure what is.

Good luck Jenny. You'll do great! I have recently started listening to Hanson when I run. It seriously makes my day.

That picture made me laugh so hard I snorted!

You could try some Halasz Judit (might help you haul ass) Bad Hungarian joke. I'll go megbani a buneimet.

love that dog! Congrats on prepping for a half marathon - in my eyes it's like doing childbirth for fun, but if it's your thing, GO FOR IT!

This could quite possibly be the scariest picture I have ever seen! HA! How did you find this! good luck girl! 1/2 Marathon... wow. You are amazing. I can barely run 3 miles.

Oh, and Dinosaur Train, Sesame Street, and Super Why really keep me going on the treadmill...and Zach occupied. I should get an iPod. :)

Good luck on the half marathon! I ran one two years ago and didn't particularly enjoy it. Hopefully it will be better for you. I'm glad I did it though. :)

I agree that the dog is pretty scary! I think that you will look more exhausted than like a rabid dog! Word of advice, get compression shorts or spandex pants. I chaffed big time! ..and then I had a pap smear the next week! Haha that was fun!

I need to make a new list too, thanks for all the ideas!
And I knew you knew Megan from your mission. I just knew it! Her parents (aka the house she grew up in) live down the street from me & her dad is our bishop.

Go Jenny!

I love anything by Gwen Stefani and/or No doubt. I also like Ashlee Simpson to get pumped up. But mostly I love nature sounds. I feel like I'm getting in tune with nature and my own body. I know I probably look really stupid but when I running by myself and I'm on a straight road I like running with my eyes closed. It's wierd and I probably swerve like I'm drunk but it feels nice. (but ya gotta peak somtimes to make sure you don't run right off the road or even worse into a parked car)
