Mmmmmm

Samantha's not quite saying "mama" yet, but she IS saying "mmmmmmmmm" and eating big people food. Notice the mac and cheese in her mouth. We are finally moving from baby food and purees to real stuff! YEA!

Lil' Grin

Callie is beginning to give me a little grin each day. It's not quite a full out smile, but her eyes light up as she gives me a smirk. I have to really work for it, but it's well worth the effort. (Something to keep in mind when it comes to Callie -- she's so much cuter in person.)

First Family Pictures

These were taken the last time Marcus was here, but it's taken me a week to get them on the computer. The first picture Samantha is just enjoying things, but then, wait. She realizes someone else is there and just watches her for a bit, and Callie watches back. This is actually how it is a lot of times.
(Sidenote: This was also taken before we cut Samantha's hair with the Flowbee -- or however you spell it. We don't have pictures of that, but we did get it on video. It took one of us holding her hands down while the other took the vacuum and sucked up/cut her hair. It didn't seem to bother her too much. I thought it looked kind of bad, but the other day someone asked me if I had cut Samantha's hair. I said "yeah" kind of sheepishly. Then she said, "I thought so. It looks really stylish." Go figure.)

Samantha's Sisterly Love

Yesterday I was sitting on the floor feeding Callie. Samantha was jumping and crawling over me. It was a battle over mommy. I looked down at Callie as she peacefully ate, despite the bouncing caused by Samantha, when all ove a sudden she screamed. Quickly trying to assess the situation, I looked over at Samantha to find Callie's foot in Samantha's mouth. Yes, she had bit Callie's foot, and quite hard. (Though this is clearly not funny, I can't help but laugh when I think about Samantha so innocently looking up at me with Callie's foot in her mouth.) After removing Callie's foot from Samantha's jaws of death, I sternly told Samantha "No" and she began to cry as she laid her head on my leg. Such a sad story.
