What's wrong with this picture? Why does the little girl get the big chair and the big boy get the little chair? Hmmm
Sunday morning before church we went in to Seattle. It was really pretty. We did get a picture with us at the Space Needle, but it's a vertical shot and I can't get it to rotate. So, oh well. But, I love this picture -- Callie and Samantha looking and smiling at each other. So cute.
When Marcus was younger, his dad went to graduate school at University of Washington. During that year, they rented out this house. It was a trick finding this baby. We only had a street name, and it was the wrong one. I was determined to find this house. We had spent so much time looking for it, there was no way we were leaving without finding it. And find it we did. It was fun for Marcus to have a flood of memories come back. The man who bought the house in 1990 still lives there. We were able to talk to him for about 20 minutes as he confirmed that this was definitely the house.
I'm not quite sure what I think about Spokane yet. Everyone has told us such wonderful things and this coming weekend we plan on going around to some places to get to know the area more. I want to know why everyone said great things about Spokane. Because, not that it's a bad place, I just haven't quite figured out yet why it's such a good place. I'm excited to get to know our new area. But, after this weekend, Marcus and I concluded that we could definitely, most definitely do Seattle! It's a very pretty and clean area. Perhaps he'll find a job there next year. Who knows? But we sure wouldn't mind.
Thanks Emmi and Dan for the tremendous hospitality. It was so fun being with you guys. It's good to have great friends that we can see from time to time. Have fun on your trip to the Virgin Islands! Sheesh. Are you sure you don't want us to come? Ask your parents just to make sure.

SO far it looks beautiful there. I am sure you will grow accustomed to it and end up loving Spokane. I am glad you got to go a BYU game... that probably felt nice. You look happy...the apartment looks great... and the girls as always are beautiful. Good luck with everything in Washington...even though I haven't seen you for a year, it is weird, but I miss you guys...(I guess now just knowing that I can't just see you if I wanted.)
Hey, so you like Seattle? We may end up there because there is a bunch of biotech stuff, which is where Eldon would like to work. Do you recommend it?
yes. Stephanie...we loved Seattle. Now, there are some things about it that I've heard are negative. But it really is gorgeous. And there seems to be a lot of parks and kid friendly things to do. The surrounding suburbs are really nice. Some more expensive than others, but really, I felt like there were a lot of options of good living. There are also 17 stakes in Seattle, so there is a pretty healthy LDS population. In the winter I guess it's pretty overcast and drizzles a lot, but that's mainly the winter time. We loved it. Maybe we could be neighbors in a couple years.:)
did you get a new stroller?
oh, ha. No. I borrowed my friend's stroller while we were there so we wouldn't have to pack ours and bring it to Seattle. It was nice though. But, no. Not ours. I'm looking for a double jogging stroller around here. But, I'm not even sure I feel safe enough to run around our apartment!
It was so good to see you, even if it was brief and really loud at the game! You guys got some beautiful pics in Seattle. I of course am biased since I grew up in Seattle, it is a great place to live, but I have to admit that I like Portland A LOT too. Come and visit us anytime!
Gee Marcus you looking strikingly like Bronco Mendenhall in all your BYU garb. Glad to see you're still supporting the team! I'll be at the game Saturday hoping for a win.
