Job Offer

Big News in the Green household.

Today, Marcus received a phone call from Kaiser.  We weren't expecting a call in a while, so Marcus was a little nervous when he answered the phone.

But this phone call was a very pleasant one, indeed.  Marcus was offered a job at Kaiser Permanente San Jose.  I couldn't be more excited.  We both couldn't be more excited.  (My in-laws are probably in tears with the prospect of having their home to theirselves once again.  And yes, I type this as Sammy claws at Grammy's bedroom door.)

Now, the offer isn't official since he hasn't signed any paperwork.  So, perhaps I'm jumping the gun on this one.  But, all they are waiting for his to make sure he isn't a felon -- I think we're good on that one -- and they'll be calling his references.  They told him that the voting on the committee was pretty fast.  When we started this fellowship, there was no job opening.  It was a very pleasant surprise when we found out a job was opening, and now, I can't begin to tell you how elated I am that he (most likely) has it.

The job is 30 hours/wk, so he'll be doing some side work too.  But, this job means that we have insurance still, we can keep all of Sammy's doctors, she can stay in her school, Callie can stay in her school, we can stay in the ward (church congregation) that we are currently in, and we get to live close by family still.

We're pretty happy over here.  Sammy's in a particularly happy mood, and I'm pretty sure it's because she knows Daddy has his FIRST REAL job!!!

That is great!! I am sure that is a wonderful feeling. Also I love your bike ride pictures. My kids are like Callie as well, they want to get down and walk around and explore. Sometimes it takes a while :)
