Here, the blinds are shut. The girls tear a new one down each day. It's fun for them, frustrating for us.
The Solution
Put up drapes and take down the rest of the vertical blinds.

I did the same thing with mine actually. Think of it this way though...at least you don't have to worry about the ends getting dirty!! Well not by dragging on the floor anyway - kids are a different story.
Those vertical blinds are a terror! I think you did great! Who cares if they are a bit short?
Ha ha ha... our vertical blinds look exactly the same from our kiddos running through them and pulling them down... my solution.... I don't care what the blinds look like, so haven't even worried about putting up drapes... but I laugh at you. I love that your new drapes are a few inches too short, and that heck... you don't care!
