Is It Too Much To Ask?

I want to win the HGTV Home Giveaway! Sonoma, CA -- in the middle of wine country. Sure I don't drink the wine, but living in a really really nice area wouldn't be so bad, would it? Plus, Ted and Peggy (bro. and sis-in-law) live in CA now too, and of course most of Marcus's family. And who can complain about the weather there? hmmm?

Marcus knows that one of the components of my dream home is to have a nice porch with a swing. Check out this porch. Very swing worthy. The perfect porch in fact.

I love the detail on the house. Ah, it is gorgeous -- completely my style. I love this back patio too. I love being outside. And when we have friends and family over, I'd love to entertain in the back yard...but not just any backyard. This backyard!:) Well, we'll see. But isn't it cute? A little room to run around (not enough room to run around if you ask me...but there's enough), a nice table to sit, eat, and chat, and check out the BBQ! I'm definitely the BBQ cook in our home. I love to BBQ! I guess my dad really rubbed off on me on that one. And then there's the grapevines. Nice touch being in Sonoma and all. But really, I'd want to downsize the grapes -- though I would definitely keep some -- and use part of that plot for a real vegetable garden. I can't wait to have my own garden one day -- green peppers, cucumber, watermelon, green beans, mmmm.

Oh, if only I could win this house. Wouldn't that be just fabulous though? Really! Of the millions and millions of people who send in their name, hoping to win, what if I won? Wow. What a dream!

I really wanted to win the house, too, then I got practical about it. We could never afford the taxes every year. But I am way willing to hope you win it! I love Sonoma! Roy's grandfather lives there and it is a lovely place to live. It's about an hour from us and two from San Jose (which is nice in its way). The house is so gorgeous! Okay, so what do we have to do to make sure you win other than fast and pray?

Oh Jenny I hear ya! LOL. I have been entering that sweepstakes literally every day since I found out about it January 1st. I even set a daily reminder in my Palm lest I forget. It is a lovely place isn't it? My only shot of being able to live in California. But as Heidi said, the taxes will really be something. Oh well, a girl's gotta have dreams!
Good Luck!

Yes it's true about the taxes, but if I can live there for a year and then sell it, I'd be pretty happy. With that money, I could find a place in a more affordable location. Where is that location? Who knows. But a girl's got to dream.

OH that is so funny! I have thought about entering that sweepstake every time I watch HGTV! I just love the HGTV network! I know I would never win and what would I do with a home in CA? Oh if only they had a dream home give away in my town, since I'll never be leaving!

Jenny, I hope you win, even more than I hope I win (which is a lot!)
Three cheers for hopes and dreams! May yours come true.

I am in love with that house too!! I signed up but don't plan on winning! Wouldn't that be great if you did!!! The only thing about that house, I think a man did the layout, it's not a very great layout! (no bathroom no the 1st floor for one!!) But GOOD LUCK!!!

I guess I have some competition! I've entered to win that house too! haha. I'll sell it to you if I win. :) hehe. Like everyone said though, the taxes would bankrupt us. It is nice to dream though. That would be awesome if someone I knew won it though.
